STUDY WEEKEND

Google imaged something amusing to post on my blog to make up for the boringness below. It's so cute.
Blearrgh. I’m itchy again. Stupid rash has returned. I spent practically my entire day studying bio today because there are SO MANY dot points to go through. I’ve gone through the majority thank goodness… but I still have dot pt 4 and the 1st dot point from genetics the code broken.

THEN after bio, I decided to fix up my 3u, adding a paradigm and exploring my points a bit more. MANY THANKS to Richard who was very nice and explained a couple of things to do with global expansion and post modernism to me- I understand the topic almost fully now. After that, I decided to go on with 2u Eng. This only happened at 10pm, and unfortunately, I have to change the themes I explore because my themes are to CLUNKY, congealed together… disgusting. I’m changing it to one we’ve talked about in class a lot. Strangely I find I have more problems talking about Frankenstein than Blade Runner, but I guess that’s because I’ve read up a lot more on Blade Runner. Rick Deckard IS a replicant J Ridley Scott determined that :D I still have no idea what film I’m going to use for my speech/vis rep.

I can’t remember essays. Not fair. When I cram, I either get mental blanks during the exam (last term’s 2u ==;;) OR I mix up sentences/points/quotes. So all I’m going to do is memorise my ideas, quotes and techniques… and the order. J

For economics- HA! I’m so screwed. Yesterday evening, I was going to study eco, except my dad took up all my eco study space with some notes on the wall and he was watching a movie and wouldn’t budge (seriously, what kind of dad does that!) so I moved into the dining room with my bio stuff and filled up the whole table with my notes. I’m handwriting everything. J Which is good, I guess.

IF ONLY I COULD USE THIS BLOG AS MY MAJOR WORK. It would focus on the human condition. Oh, the joys, lows and hysteria of a teenaged girl living in a society where people still bother to read about what happens in her daily happenings. Speaking of that, Richard was commenting yesterday about how he couldn’t believe people would blog about what happens in their lives. He sees them (I/we) as exposing ourselves to the world outside. :O I guess it is a bit daunting when you listen to him warning you about the dangers of exposing yourself to a world you don’t know.

Anyway, I don’t think I have that much to say today, apart from “I HATE OVER ANALYSING TEXTS THAT ARE ENJOYABLE TO READ”. D: Really. It puts me off so much. Oh I just remembered. Last night I wasn’t studying full-time. I was half watching “The Holiday” with Jack Black, Cameron Diaz, and Kate Winslet. I wished I had paid more attention to it as it was quite a sweet movie that I would have really enjoyed if I listened properly. I actually took a photo of a review on this movie years ago when I visited the records library at C. Quay.

BEST OF LUCK FOR EXAMS EVERYONE. STUDY HARD AND DON’T GIVE UP. IF YOU FEEL BURNT OUT, RELAX AND EAT AND COME BACK AND STUDY. IF YOU FEEL TIRED, SLEEP AND GET SOMEONE TO WAKE YOU UP IN LESS THAN 40 MINUTES. That’s what they call a power nap!

"Rick Deckard IS a replicant J Ridley Scott determined that" -- How can Deckard be a replicant? I know it's implied by Rachael, but if he were a replicant then wouldn't he have died due to the four year fail safe feature the replicants have?

Gee, I'm actually talking about English with you for once :P

Not all replicants live for 4 years. I researched it. Besides, how do you know he's NOT a replicant? His memories could have been implanted. Evidence for this (oh, i could go on for ages), he and Rachael play the same tune on the piano and when his grip slips and Roy catches his arm, he cries 'KINSHIP' implying that they are somehow related. ! DUN DUN DUN DUUUUN

Oh I'm such a fan of Blade Runner now :)

Good luck to you.

So what if they play the same tune on the piano? What does that symbolise/represent? I think a more likely representation is that Deckard has fallen in love with Rachael?

First, I don't think the reason that reason Roy saves Deckard is because of them being related. I didn't hear the 'KINSHIP' bit but I will look at it later again.

Why isn't he a replicant? Well basically he is weak compared to any of the four replicants that he's challenged and the four year thing. Where does it say that not all replicants have a four year lifespan?

@ Mini: dude. Ridley Scott says Deckard is a replicant. Don't argue. D: And he plays the tune on the piano before Rachael does.. I think. IMPLANTED MEMORIES I SAY. And Roy does say kinship 8) I watched it again

lol,

Where does Ridley Scott say that?

Even if Deckard is a replicant, why is that important in the context of HSC English? Aren't we comparing the two texts with Frankenstein?

Put a sock on it with this topic.

And I never said it was important in relation to the HSC. It's important to ME because I wanted to know.
