Friggin Itch

So I am back.

Again.

I think I'm becoming immune to the stupid pink tablets. I'm not feeling sleepy at all. ANYWAY, I was just googling "How to analyse art" because I'm using a painting as my other text in Extension English.. and this pops up:

1. Define the Purpose of the Artwork (theme/meaning):
to create beauty
to reveal truth
to immortalize
to express religious values
to stimulate the intellect
to create order and harmony
to create chaos
to reflect society and culture
to protest injustice/raise social consciousness
to express the universal
to meet the needs of the artist

2. Analyze the Elements of Art
Locate the Focal Point (where your immediate attention/eye goes).
Define the Medium (painting, fresco, sculpture, photography).
Abstract or Realistic, Apollonian or Dionysian?
Analyze the use of light and dark. Does color saturation or hue create a psychological effect or mood?
Analyze the effect of Texture (brush strokes, molding strokes).
Analyze Lines, Shapes, and Space (look for overlapping, relative size, position, and linear perspective).
Define the purpose of objects/figures and their relative size and placement.
Explain any symbols/themes (people, objects, colors, placement, and size). Does your piece convey a social or political message?

.__.;;

I can safely say that alot of this analysis stuff is bs. Honestly, you can gather THAT MUCH from a couple of dashes of paint on canvas? (Don't say I don't appreciate art, because I do. I just think all this analysis is overrated). I really don't think the artist actually had all these themes in mind. Maybe they didn't notice how much the colours contrasted on the surface.. maybe he/she just wanted it to look PRETTY. TT__TT;;

But I'm not complaining. I'd rather analyse art than analyse a block of text. Because we all know, that's even more bs. As if Shakespeare thought about using all these "literary devices". His street plays were just for entertainment! D:

Hmm. I'm starting to feel abit sleepy now. ja;lskdfj;asld

Right. Well I was reading Angry's blog a little earlier, the post about MacDonald's. The thing I don't like about Maccas now is that everything is quite expensive. :/ I guess its inflation and all, but the stuff they advertise.. On tv, there's this Maccas ad where a guy rummages around the bottom of his bag to find some loose change to buy a stupid snack wrap (which by the way is NO good) WELL THATS GAY. If I went up to a counter and said "Hi, Can I get a snack wrap pls" and rummaged around my bag, I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO COME UP WITH $1.95.

And what's the deal with $0.95? Why don't you just make it $1. I hate the extra 5c they have. FIVE CENTS YOU ARE GAY. It's so retarded. I hate having useless coins in my wallet. Face it 5c, you're not useful to anyone except gay shops now. Even vending machines and photocopiers won't take you anymore. You're just sitting in my money box (which btw weighs more than 2kg- ALL 5c coins..) doing nothing, collecting dust. You should go, like the 1c and 2c coin. You're small, fickley and useless.

Hmm. This is all over the place.

:( I'm still quite lumpy. I have a feeling what I have is not a rash because it's not going away.

Poor Belle >.<
Shakespeare didn't write half his plays... Understandable as it took me long enough to read Richard III, let alone writing an essay for it. Imagine trying to write the thing itself. Each of his play is like a giant 4U Major work...
Sleeping pills are bad for you >.<

analyzing anything harder than what it should be enjoyed for is completely stupid

It's all about how it sounds. $1.95 sounds better than $2, because in the mind of the consumer it hasn't reached that greater level yet.

Hope you cope with the work without pulling your hair out...=/

I was about to comment on the Maccas pricing but James got to it first haha. Yeah it's a marketing ploy.. 49.99 looks cheaper than 50.00, etc. It's pretty interesting actually, how stores are designed in certain ways and stock is shelved in particular way to induce more purchases..
