- Monday - LANCY. Hope you liked what we all got you. 8) All Carmen's idea methinks
- Sunday?- Beidi. Hope you had a good one
- TODAY- Peter . O_O assembly announcement?
Celebrations aside, I've come to realise that watching the news during dinner puts me off food a little. Because I'm a little older (and wiser, I'd like to think), I've noticed that there has been a dramatic influx of bad news in the recent months.
- Global financial crisis- job losses (remember that guy who killed his whole family because he lost his job?)
- Swine flu- people just panicked
- North Korea and it's ridiculous nuclear weapons (missile heads?)
- Swine flu in AUSTRALIA just popping out of no where
These are only the MAJOR MAJOR things. Of course, I only watch the real news- ABC and SBS. Other channels just feature false eye witnesses who use "chk chk boom" as their catchphrase. Honestly, that girl is mentally misguided.
Did you notice that when she started imitating them, she put on the accent as well 8) fully sic mate. Hilarious.
Anyway, during dinner my dad said something about North Korea being poor. Because I am an ignorant fool, I had no idea and so he gave me a mini-lesson about poor communist countries. According to him (btw, if this is completely false, you know who to blame), China and North Korea were like, good buddies because they're communist countries and yerr. "Brothers" was the term he used (would have killed our current lady principal) to describe the relationship. Apparently these "brothers" are supposed to help each other out alot, so China used to give money to NK, but apparently they don't anymore (confirmation?). This all sounds sort of very distant to me... I have no idea whatsoever. APPARENTLY, China used to have that relationship with Vietnam too before the French invaded. When China stopped sharing their funds, Vietnam was angry etc and turned against them?
I was shucks at history. And I have no recollection of learning about this at all. I wish I did. It sounds so interesting.
Anyway, continuing, I watching a report on ABC, and the reporter said something along the lines of America telling Japan to destroy the NK missile depot places.
WHAT. KIND. OF. LUDICROUS. IDEA. IS. THAT.
Do they have ANY idea how risky that is. You could seriously start some kind of war D: And I really don't want that to happen. (2009 is bad enough. GFC, HSC syllabus change in Jap and English, Swine flu. really. One would think that the HSC itself would be enough. but no. THANK YOU VERY MUCH WORLD or any other SPIRITUAL BEING WHO IS BIG AND ALMIGHTY).
I know NK is acting in a really retarded way atm, sending out another two missiles into the Jap sea. They must be really freaked out. I know I would be, if I was a few thousand km up north.. but personally, I don't think attacking them first is a good idea.
I'd usually never say anything like this because I'm sort of against the former, but
MAKE LOVE, NOT WAR
And make more tamiflu drugs. D: This sudden increase in numbers of people who have randomly contracted swine flu really mystify me. How on earth are they getting sick? A month or so ago, I was listening to the morning radio, and this woman was talking about some flu that existed an age ago (spanish flu? no i don't think so.. not sure). A bunch of sailors (prolly British) had the flu and they didn't die. Apparently this was the "first wave". The "second wave" of the flu killed SO MANY PEOPLE, it was quite depressing to hear about it. I really hope this "wave" of flu isn't lethal. And I sure hope people don't pass any random flu to me because I really don't need illness.
I'm quite surprised I'm not sick yet. For the level of sleep I get everynight, I would have thought I'd be unable to maintain my immune system. But I guess being a grot living in my pigsty of a room really does help. My parents constantly complain about my sister's twisted collar (she never fixes it up), and they always tell her to fix it, and to be "more like your sister"(w00! I finally did something right). Then my mum pointed out that hte person who LOOKS the most organised, neat and tidy is not necessarily the one who has the neatest room. My sister's bedroom is THRICE as neat as mine. But I guess she does have less furniture. For one, she has 1 less bookshelf, wardrobe, desk and bed. Oh and two huge plastic containers. My room is like the family dump :(
HIGHLIGHTS OF TODAY (eh hehehe)
- Double bio with a no sub was basically wasted on us talking about Masterchef (lol! so many people watch it), and scrolling through photos in our phones.
- taking an actual photo in bio, with us looking ridiculous.
doncha love it?
Afterschool, I thought my mother was going to pick me up. But I forgot she was at work today. ! So I just stood there for a while and (i) I remembered. :( I didn't bring wallet/travel ten to school ($20 in my bag though, but getting $19.10 change in coins did not seem appealing at all) so i walked to the library joining Christine and Momo.
Started to study, but went hunting for the financial review.
WHAT A CRAPPY LIBRARY. No newspaper stand, just a few random chinese papers stacked messily on one of the desks. :( So I resorted to reading Empire. One of my favourite magazines that I am too poor to buy. I loveeee it. Afterwards I read a magazine I used to loveee. Back when I was a retarded teenage girl. Gf. ;D Kristen Bell and RPattzz on the front. Stubble does not suit him (g.clooney on the other hand...). Momo left and Christine and I got into a conversation about formal.
oh man. there seems like so much to do before the actual day (and actually I'm sort of dreading it). I'm thinking of getting some kind of dress online (baahaha risky i know) and if it's the wrong size I can take it to the tailors? or DIY. It would be more affordable. We have some pretty disgusting dresses in australia. The sort of decent ones cost heaps- something I simply cannot afford. I went through this super vain phase once.. didn't suit my budget. I'll stick to being an average girl who tries not to care. (btw I spend way too much on food D: )
Okay. I CHANGED TOPICS SO RAPIDLY. D: WHAT IS WRONG WTIH ME D: (and NEIGHBOURS. wtffffff. I HATE SUNNY. And WTH is wrong with ELLE D: and PAUL FOR DOING A RUNNER? AND BRIDGET FOR BEING A RETARD D: .. and DONNA AND RINGO.. I am considering not watching this show. It messes wiht my mind so much and the plot is getting gayer and gayer. D: )
Hope you all have a great week. Perhaps I need to rest some more. My mind is screaming like crazy.
Ps. I have a vid of Topher guitaring, and Michael Yoon singing (hilarious) anyone interested?

No Belle! NOBODY is interested in that video.....
Insightful post belle.
I'd have to agree that starting a war with North Korea would be quite a bad idea. Imagine all the civilian casualties. And you are right about China being best buddies wiht NK. They still are and still provide aid to them. It is just the UN sanctions imposed on them by many non-communist member nations that are making them poor.
Btw, you cant just increase production levels of Tamiflu. My aunty, who's a director for the Australian component of Roche(company that produces tamiflu) says that production levels are already at max, and that demand is so high, that tbey've had to push back the drug expiry dates, to ensure each country has a suitable stockpile amount.
Other than that...good blog =)
OMG! MAX PRODUCTION?! NOOOOO
lol, the chk chk boom girl is hilarious.
Holy moly, I pasted your post into Word, it's 1.2k words :O
Tamiflu isn't going to save the world. But I think the greatest problem is fear itself.

No video please. Guitar was out of tune and so were my fingers haha.
Is Kim Jong-Il ill? Ho ho ho ho ho. Or is he just friggin' dead, like Osama is probably now.
Yes you are horrible at history.
Ok, I shall give you a very brief history lesson.
China became communist in the late 40s after WWII. Since there was the cold war going on, Russia had given it's support the the Chinese Communist party who managed to kick out the Nationalists, who had the backing of American and still do(the old proper gov of China to Taiwan.
You should know from 3U English that the cold war was very 2 sided. Either you were with the communists or you were with the democracies. China was obviously sided with the Russians. Anyway, when NK tried to take over all of Korea, the US backed SK because it couldn't afford to let Korea become communist so they supported pro democracy SK. As soon as the US sent in troops, China being linked via land to NK decided for the sake of the cold war that they could have a pro democracy country such as Korea as their neighbour.
At the start of the Korean War, China was a fairly new nation and damn poor. They provided a gigantic army to back up the NK army and all the equipment needed. This was when people back in China was starving and it was a time of famine so the sacrifice of the Chinese was great. It was made even more so because the Chinese suffered enormous causalities thx to the technologically advanced American army and their allies (like Aus). The Korean War drew at a stalemate only because America could not beat NK when China was backing them up with their seemingly endless supply of reserves (lots of people in China means China could afford to suffer 100x more losses to men).
But your Dad is right about how Chins isn't really buddies with NK anymore. After the end of the Cold War, China didn't really care about other countries. China was also a lot more powerful and richer so they didn't needed united protection under Communism. Plus NK were pretty ungrateful about the help China provided and seem to think they tied on the Korean war because of their own army...
Gah typos in my last post...
China decided they couldn't have a pro democracy neighbour such as SK was their neighbour and wanted a communist neighbour such as NK.
@ Jason: ty
@ Joseph: OMG I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS >1000. Doesn't look it ehh xD
:O There are Daily Telegraph and SMH there daily! x)
And I AGREE about the news channels. What pisses me off the most about the bogan channels though, is that they spend 10 minutes on real news, 3 minutes on ads, 15 minutes on sport, and 2 minute on weather.
Or something like that.
I LOVE THAT PHOTO! EVERYONES SO PERFECTLY ALLIGNED AND PERFECT.
I wonder who has such amazing photography skills ;D Actually I had to take the photo because my arms/wrist doesnt stretch that far and I would've ruined it.
