Friday was our day off, so I decided to download a newer version of the portable CS4 photoshop. The main reason for that was so that I could create a blog link banner to put on Rex's blog. Before I started, I fiddled around with the contrasted, hue, saturation etc in another photo to familiarise myself with everything.
I love photos that have high contrast but dull colours :) It's so easy on the eye. Didn't get round to putting it in a polaroid frame. :D It has the polaroid effect. me likey.

And then I started looking through some recent photos and photoshopped everyone's face. Photos were magnified up to 300x. So I know what they have on their faces now. T_T;
When we went to Tonyon today, we bought heaps and heaps of preserved foods and foods that have a while before expiring.. just incase the swine flu epidemic runs wild in NSW. My parents have been forcing us to watch every single news report on the swine flu, I know so much about it now... and that is not a good thing. Ít's driven my sister and I into this unnecessary paranoia. Like today, we were at Tonyon waiting in the queue to pay. And then, this old man behind us sneezes and starts spluttering. My dad, sister and I exchange looks, and we HURRIED AWAY sniggering quietly to ourselves. HAHA. I can't believe we actually did that, but seriously, for the rest of our time at Ewood, we just avoided everyone who looked sick. And yes, we know that we can be infected by asymptomatic carriers, but we can't go around avoiding everyone xD
For the rest of the night, I sat infront of the tv. Watched some REALLY REALLY "been tai" mentally disturbing movies on SBS. First was a movie called powerpoint which delved into the complexities of the human mindset and people who are able to unplug themselves with reality etc. Seriously, it was so "been tai'' because the main character and her professor kept doing sexual stuff throughout the movie and my sister and I had to keep switching channels when those scenes came up. =.=; (btw, WHY IS THERE SO MUCH FOOTBALL ON TV NOWADAYS). Oh right, I forgot to mention, the movie was Japanese. After watching SBS consistently for the past couple of years, I can come to the conclusion tht all Japanese movies played after 10pm on SBS are freaking "been tai".
After that movie, we watched a German comedy titled "666 I'm sleeping with the devil" or something strange like that. And damn it was strange. But it had Claudia Schiffer in it. Lots of sex in both movies, however it was only implied in 666, it had an M rating.
Man. My sister said the jap movie scarred her for life. She saw something I missed while I scampered off to the pantry in search for snackfoods :) I decided not to ask about it.. :)
Anyway. Exciting news. CITRUS SEASON.
All the lemons, limes, oranges and mandarins in my backyard are are growing in a very voluptuous fashion. The mandarins are already quite big and orange mmm. Kumquats soon? or is that a summer thing... I can't recall. We have I think.. 3-4 little kumquat shrubs and 2 loquat trees. Freaking farming suburbs. X) I LOVE IT. The thing I can't grow here is STRAWBERRIES. Well technically, I can, I see the little red berry starting to grow, but the colony of lizards that live under my house STEAL MY BERRIES before they get a chance to grow bigger than a little blue berry. Leaves me heart broken, so I've stopped trying. I also tried cherry tomatoes.... freaking lizards took them ALL.
For the past 2 months, there's been this HUGE bunch of grassy-like leaves growing in a little patch of dirt outside the kitchen window. It's taller than me now. I almost chopped it down today because I seriously thought it was overgrown kikuyu. BUT NO. My mother tells me it's lemon grass.
HAHAHAHAHA
WHAT HAPPENED TODAY
My dad, sister and I went to woolies today and spent over $150 on groceries.
WHAT THE HELL. The trolley was just over half full. When I was a kid, $100 bought one and a half trolleys of stuff. I hate inflation. xD
Then we went to Eastwood and spent more money on food.
When I was sorting everything out in the pantry today, I found the most disgusting thing I've seen this week. It was a rotting banana in a plastic box that wasn't sealed properly inside a plastic bag that wasn't tied up at all. To add to that, it was LEAKING BLACK LIQUID ONTO THE SHELVES. I was EXTREMELY UPSET by this because, unlike my sister who hides food in her room, I keep all my food in the pantry (I'm open to sharing), the VERY PLACE THIS BLACK STUFF WAS USING AS A FREAKING HABITAT.
Anyway. My first reaction to seeing the black puddle was.. omygoshhh. far out.
So I picked up the grotty bag and peered in.
There were alot of squiggly moving things. And I lost it and yelled at the top of my lungs HOLY FREAKING CRAP. To which my dad responded by running in at supertop speed with his humungously long legs to where I was. When he looked into that mangled mess, his only reaction was "fxck".
Teehee, I found that hilarious.
What happened afterwards was boring. Cleared everything from that shelf, chucked infected items in the bin and BLEACHED the shelf. I hate disgusting rotting moldy items. Then I decided to rearrange the whole pantry because everything was such a mess (except for the junk food section, because I monitor that section regularly). But later on, when dad was cooking dinner, he was like... WHERE IS *insert item* and WHERE THE HELL DID YOU PUT *another item*. D: D: But in the end, its all good. My super packing/stacking skillz makes space in the pantry for other items that we no longer use that waste space on the kitchen counter like the JUICE fountain.

I'm just rambling on now.. seriously, if only I could use this as my major work it would be so cool. I'd get it done in no time.
Digressing,
Winter depresses me. I look into my wardrobe for all my long sleeved shirts and they're all too short. Once again, my arms have grown. :( I have the longest arms evuurrr. Stupid genes, I feel like a yellow gorilla.
On that silly note, I'd like to bid you all adieu and happy Sunday :) (I look forward to picking up my free Sun-Herald on the lawn)
P.S. Cook a nice breakfast for your mothers for Mothers day tomorrow morning. Cook one for your dad too, while you're at it, cos he might get jealous. I know mine would :P (bahaha, jokes dad. I know you read this xD)
P.P.S I really need a vanity table. I have all these things that don't have a place to sit that I currently keep in my wardrobe.r *grumble* I also need another bookshelf. IKEA TIME 8) ♥
P.P.P.S Cat just informed me that mothers day is next week. My bad XD TY CAT

Very nice banner ^^
And you have nothing on my grocery shopping. When I pop down to Coles/Woolworth's, I spend minimum $300-$400 on food for myself only... Although they tend to last quite a long time.
I didn't get Mum anything for the first time this year. Meh, I'll try cooking breakfast tomorrow morning.
I look forward to my free Sun Herlad too x)
and why on earth would you describe fruits as voluptuos?? It seems quite...strange xD
@ Quentin: cos they're round and curvy!
@ Jason: O_O WTH MAN. THATS SO MUCH.
Oh come on, you know that you absolutely loved those scenes.. jk =P
You grow stuff? :( Reminds me of the days I had land to grow things on... I loved doing that...
You can't grow tomatoes? That's weird I recall growing them (ages ago)... Have you try insect repellent? I think we used to use a bit of that stuff.
Oh, your banana story also reminds me, I also used to make my own compost... We used to let food scraps (mainly from fruit and vegetables) rot in a bag, and white wiggly things (maggots) used to form =D If you're not already doing it, you should... I found it really helps plant growth... plus it reduces household waste XD
But since you have done Agriculture you'd know this right?
And, if you're that concerned about the Swine Flu why don't you just get a vaccination?
thanks for the banner belle. makes my blog look alot more neater.
I don't think swine flu will be a major problem in Australia so you shouldn't be that concerned. unless it claims you, then you won't have to worry about the HSC =o
i think my sunherald expires in..1 week. =[
we tried growing strawberries too but stupid bugs ate them, not lizards.
and we used to steal citrus off our old curry neighbour. ;) its the tree next to the near ur dining room.
??? Isn't Mother's day the second Sunday of May???
Your banner is so awesome :D
I had the banana thing happen once inside my tutoring bag. I forgot my mum packed a banana, then the holidays passed...the banana was like splattered all over the bottom of my bag, and stained all the sheets...the bag still smells like banana...
Yay for free newspaper!
Oh sorry Belinda I, in my mysteriousness, did not read the zillion-P.S at the very bottom.
Sorry!! XD
WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE MY BANNER TOO?! just a bubbles background and Krissybubbles under it =)
i only know how to use paint. =(
wth. how come everytime i watch SBS there aren't no been-tai shows on. but that german show with the detective dog...wts it called. is quite awesome.
hehe my word verification is "ambra"
@ Krissybubbles: hehe, if I find time this week I'll help :) and um I think you're referring to Inspector Rex
I haven't been keeping up with swine flu for the past couple of days since was at Philo camp (that was crap), but it is of my opinion that swine flu is being overblown.
It doesn't mean it will turn into a global pandemic and kill heaps of people in Australia, but at this point it's getting really stupid and unnecessary.
Yeah, fine, you can be cautious, but you don't have to plaster all that "____ PEOPLE SUSPECTED WITH SWINE FLU IN NSW BEING TESTED" etc. etc. If the symptoms are the same, they could just have normal flu. There's no need to scare frantic people.
